Flax Sweater Workshop, DK or Worsted Weight

This is a 6 session class on Saturdays from 11:00-12:30

This class is intended for adventurous knitters who are ready to try sweater knitting.  The Flax Sweater is a simple top down raglan with knit and purl stitches.  Over the course of 6 weeks you will be guided through the pattern and the class will cover sizing, shaping (increase stitches), picking up stitches, and finishing techniques.  If you have any further questions about your project, stop by our complimentary office hours every Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 for extra help.

Skills needed before attending this class:
Long tail cast on
Binding off
Knit and purl
Knitting in the round on circular needles
Knitting on double pointed needles
Gauge swatching

Yarn and needles are not included in the class cost.  You will decide if you want to make the DK or Worsted weight version and purchase the yarn before class begins, at a 20% class discount.  You will also need to download the pattern from Ravelry.  The pattern is free, just download either the DK or Worsted version. 

What you need to bring to class:
Your yarn (You must purchase at TBYS in advance and we'll apply a 20% discount)
The pattern (free on ravelry.com)
Your completed gauge swatch that has been wet blocked and dried
Removable stitch markers 
Tape measure
Tapestry needle
Needles uses to get gauge:
-Circular needles with a 16" 24" and 30" cords.  
-Double pointed needles in the smaller size, listed in the pattern
